Animal Planet has developed a really neat"Dog Breed Questionnaire" on their website. It asks you 10 short questions and then presents a tight list of breeds that are geared towards your desired traits.
For fun, we filled it out with the typical American dog owner's desires in a dog - small, low maintenance, good with kids and other animals, couch potato, easy grooming, etc. And the list list we received was ... interesting!
"Practice makes perfect" is one of the most common cliches in the English language. It's one of those statements that is only kind of true.
After all, if you're practicing a technique incorrectly, and doing it a lot, all that means is that you're going to be really good at doing something wrong. When I was a wrestler in high school, every practice started by drilling basic techniques like a double leg take-down. We learned quickly on a match day that if we had drilled sloppily, our double leg take-downs weren't going to magically work in a live situation.
We all know walking your dog on a daily basis is crucial to your dog's training. It provides structure in their otherwise unstructured days, gives your dog a job, allows your dog to practice self control, and it gives you an opportunity to assert yourself as the leader in your relationship. However, walking your dog can quickly become chaotic and even dangerous if you don't properly train your furry friend.
Thank you to all our clients - it's been a great start to my new business and I appreciate each and every one of you for not only getting your dogs the training they need but entrusting me to get the job done. It's been a blast getting to know them, seeing them make great breakthroughs, and nurturing them on their journeys to balanced and fulfilled lives.
