Depending on your dog's particular needs, it could be out and living in the house like one of Andrew's own dogs under careful supervision. Generally speaking, the pack of dogs eats together. Your dog may have special needs that prohibit this at the beginning. You will provide the food for your dog to eat while they stay. If not, my pack eats V-Dog dog food and that will be available for your dog while they are here. Your dog may eat separately or may eat their food throughout the day as needed for their training.
Andrew will assess you and your dog's individual needs when he meets them and then decide what tools and methods fit the situation. Andrew's goals are to increase the dog and the owner's happiness as much as possible in the time he spends with them. He uses his skill and judgement as a trainer to make these right decisions. Depending on the situation, Andrew is open to flat collars, slip leads, martingale collars, pinch collars, electronic collars, treadmills, head halters and more.

Your dog will be well-educated after completing a board and train with AWDT. It will learn how to live in a home amongst other dogs and humans in a peaceful manner. Whether it is obedience or behavior modification, the key ingredient for a lifetime of success is owner follow-through. If you don't make any changes yourself, your dog will revert back to the dog he was when you dropped him off.
Andrew likes to think that he starts your dog's training and you finish it. It is the goal of AWDT to give the human and the dog the tools they need to have a lifetime of successful training. Andrew not only hopes, but encourages you to keep in touch with him throughout your life so that the training process never ends.
No dog is ever "done" in 2-4 weeks. Pack leadership is work -- rewarding work, but not something that can be entirely done for you by anyone.

Andrew has done in-kennel training in the past and has found that the best way to train a dog is in a home. The training is 24/7 rather than 1 or so hours a day and the dog gets to learn how to live successfully in a home, which is more applicable to your daily life than learning how to live successfully in a kennel.
Andrew believes in many of the things Cesar Millan teaches like Exercise, Discipline and Affection (in that order) and that dogs need Rules, Boundaries and Limitations.
