Laura & Kit Kat

I enrolled my dog, Kit Kat, a 1 ½ year old spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier, in Andrew’s basic obedience class. As she was already Canine Good Citizen certified, this was a refresher course for her, but I was able to observe Andrew’s training philosophies with other dogs.

Andrew utilizes positive reinforcement as his primary training technique, but is open to other techniques depending on the dog, the owner and the situation. He is also very patient and non-confrontational which is extremely important to make both the dog and the owner feel comfortable. Andrew bases his training techniques on the personality of the individual dog (i.e. different types of training collars, rewards, etc.) which helps them to succeed by focusing on their own strengths.

I also have worked with Andrew on an individual basis with an aggression case in which other veterinarians have turned away medical care. From my experience, Andrew is very passionate about canine behavior and training and is willing to continue his learning, which is essential for any professional in this field.
